Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Michigan to build and sustain relationships with contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage projects after sale, and keep customer data current.

The role offers commission-based earnings with uncapped upside, supporting growth within a multi-billion-dollar company that values honesty, hard work, and people-first culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales is required.
• Knowledge of home building basics is necessary.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Sell building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage sold projects and maintain ongoing customer relationships.
• Collect and update customer information on product use and trends.
• Visit job sites as needed and maintain schedules.
• Proactively communicate with customers and internal teams to prevent issues.
