Job summary

Carter Lumber Company, via its Kight Home Center division, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Clarksville, TN. You will build and maintain relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers while selling our full line of building materials and installed services.

You will manage accounts after sale, read blueprints, prepare material takeoffs, and coordinate with yard, dispatch, and management.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales is required.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take-off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Sell our full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage relationships after a sale and visit job sites as needed.
• Maintain customer information on product use and trends.
• Visit job sites, maintain schedules, and respond to issues.
• Use proven sales strategies and heavy communication to drive success.
