Job summary

Spirax-Sarco Engineering’s Chromalox division in Pittsburgh seeks an Outside Sales Engineer for the Northeast region to own a territory, qualify new customers, and cultivate relationships across heat trace products and services. You will design systems, perform basic thermal calculations, and drive opportunities with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a strong technical sales background, site walkdown experience, and the ability to communicate solutions clearly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years direct technical sales experience owning and growing a territory.
• 2+ years outside sales in the commercial building industry.
• BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering preferred; other technical degrees considered.
• Experience performing site walkdowns in commercial environments to assess needs.
• CRM ownership and data management demonstrated.
• Ability to articulate customer solutions and collaborate across departments.
• Excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills.
• Heat Trace experience preferred; Bluebeam experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize strong communication and networking to nurture relationships and drive sales.
• Develop proposals and perform basic thermal calculations and heat trace design takeoffs.
• Manage order cycle: entry, drawings, expediting, and returns authorizations.
• Assist with reclaiming previous business while growing sales within a defined list.
• Monitor sales and bookings for assigned accounts.
• Attend industry events to raise solution awareness and build relationships.
• Perform technical product presentations for engineering firms, distributors, and end users.
• Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 to track opportunities, leads, and appointments.
