Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to develop and nurture relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage the post-sale relationship, and visit job sites as needed.

Salary is based on commission with strong earning potential. The role requires effective communication, organization, and the ability to create estimates and quotes.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience in sales is required.
• Knowledge of home building basics is essential.
• Ability to create material estimates and quotes.
• Open new contractor accounts monthly or quarterly.
• Learn to read blueprints and prepare material take-offs.
• Strong planning, organization, and independent work skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Sell building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage the sale and ongoing relationship after a job is sold.
• Visit job sites as needed and maintain schedules.
• Collect and update information on customers’ product use and trends.
