Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an Outside Counsel Guidelines Attorney to manage engagement terms and risk for the firm. Reporting to the Executive Director, New Business Intake and Procurement, you will serve as the coordinating expert on risk issues linked to OCGs and related materials.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, collaboration with General Counsel and various internal teams, and the ability to negotiate terms while protecting the firm's interests. Hybrid schedule across U.S.

Qualifications

• JD degree required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal department; Intake Attorney, contract attorney, or comparable role preferred.
• Active law license in good standing in state where practicing.
• Experience with Intapp Terms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial review of OCGs and engagement terms, coordinating with Office of General Counsel and New Business Intake attorneys.
• Identifies terms that require negotiation and proposes modifications.
• Maintains an OCG playbook and tracking systems; coordinates with stakeholders to gather feedback.
• Coordinates with Conflicts and New Business Intake to ensure internal processes reflect agreed terms.
