Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an Outside Counsel Guidelines Attorney to manage engagement terms and related risk across the firm, reporting to the Executive Director of New Business Intake and Procurement. The role involves reviewing terms, negotiating resolutions, and liaising with internal stakeholders to finalize OCGs and engagement materials.

The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert on OCG processes, maintain playbooks, coordinate stakeholder feedback, and drive timely completion

Qualifications

• Active law license in good standing in the state(s) where practicing.
• 2 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal department; intake/contract attorney preferred.
• Experience with Intapp Terms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial review of OCGs and engagement terms and coordinate with General Counsel and New Business Intake attorneys.
• Identify terms that require negotiation and propose modifications.
• Coordinate with Finance, Information Governance, Data Privacy and Protection, HR, and other teams to gather feedback and finalize terms.
• Maintain an OCG playbook and tracking systems; ensure timely follow-ups and resolutions.
• Serve as an Intapp expert, focusing on accurate tagging of terms.
• Ensure compliance with engagement letter policy and support disengagement efforts.
