Job summary

The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) seeks a Community Engagement Associate to support data collection, reporting, and resource creation for immigrant communities across New York State. Under the Director of Community Engagement, you will help plan and attend events, distribute materials, and contribute to team initiatives.

The role requires strong organization, experience with digital tools, and a commitment to immigrant rights; Spanish or other languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional experience in nonprofit/community role.
• Knowledge of social justice and immigrant rights preferred.
• Strong research and writing skills are essential.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or other languages is a plus.
• Experience with Google Workspace, Salesforce, and project management tools.
• Some evening and weekend work is expected (compensated).
• Valid driver license preferred and eligibility to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Admin and data management: Manage data collection and record keeping for events using Salesforce, spreadsheets, and shared drives.
• Resource creation and distribution: Develop community-facing materials and coordinate with vendors and finance on invoices.
• Events and general support: Plan and attend events, deliver Know Your Rights trainings, and support rapid response efforts.
• Process improvement: Propose and implement improvements to team workflow and coordination.
• Team coordination: Create systems to support the Engagement team and partner communications.
