Job summary

The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) is seeking a Training Manager, Immigration Legal Services in New York City. This permanent, full-time role leads curriculum development, training delivery, and technical assistance for immigration legal service providers, including accredited representatives, paralegals, and attorneys.

Under the Director of Training and Technical Assistance, you will oversee the NYIC Training Institute programs, ensure compliance with Continuing Legal Education

Qualifications

• Recent experience in immigration legal services with understanding of policy changes.
• Experience as accredited representative, paralegal, attorney, or other immigration legal services practitioner.
• Knowledge of DOJ Recognition and Accreditation program.
• Strong facilitation, written and verbal communication, and relationship-management skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with staff across teams and departments.
• Commitment to NYIC's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Deliver NYIC Training Institute's signature 40-hour immigration law overview; update curricula and recruit trainers.
• Design new training programs for service providers working with immigrant communities.
• Lead development of curricula with subject matter experts.
• Conduct trainings and recruit trainers for other topics.
• Lead technical assistance for DOJ Recognition and Accreditation and provide 1:1 consultations.
• Plan and coordinate DOJ R&A technical assistance across NY state.
• Co-present DOJ R&A webinars for staff and volunteers.
• Represent NYIC on the national R&A working group.
• Ensure compliance with CLE requirements in NY.
• Oversee training logistics and participant experiences.
• Supervise Training Associate or Intern when assigned.
• Support NYIC Action as needed.
• May move/carry materials up to 50 pounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
