Job summary

Owensboro Health is seeking a patient access specialist for the Bariatrics Outpatient department. You will handle registration, scheduling, and coordinating patient flow with emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

The role includes collecting vitals, assisting with basic procedures under supervision, and ensuring timely registration and check-out while maintaining a focus on patient satisfaction and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• ABR-OE credential required within 120 days of experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and reschedules appointments and diagnostic testing using scheduling programs.
• Collects and records vital signs.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Accepts payments and co-pays and other fees for services during registration.
• Greets patients as they arrive into the facility and provides appropriate information.
• Enters information from a variety of sources into computer databases and verifies accuracy.
