Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a SATS Counselor at the Clitheroe Center in Alaska to provide substance abuse treatment services under a contract with the Alaska Department of Corrections. You will manage a caseload, conduct SBIRT/ASAM assessments and facilitate groups.

The position requires Alaska State Counselor Technician Certification and ability to obtain CDCI within one year. It is a full-time, non-exempt role with contract through 2027 and possible renewals, reporting

Qualifications

• Alaska State Counselor Technician Certification is required.
• Knowledgeable about Substance Related and Addictive Disorders.
• Must obtain Alaska CDCI within one year of hire.
• Must pass ADOC background check and PREA screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct SBIRT and ASAM assessments and orientation for new clients.
• Facilitate groups on chemical dependency and related issues.
• Develop treatment plans and reentry planning as needed.
• Complete timely documentation in contract compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
