Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a SATS Counselor to provide substance abuse treatment services within an Alaska Department of Corrections contract. You will conduct SBIRT and ASAM assessments, develop treatment plans, and facilitate groups for offenders, ensuring compliance with the contract and program standards.

Requirements include Alaska State Counselor Technician Certification and ability to pass background checks; CDC Level 1 certification is expected within 1 year if not already held.

Qualifications

• Alaska State Counselor Technician Certification is required.
• Knowledge of Substance Related and Addictive Disorders and its treatment.
• CDC Certification at least Level 1 or equivalent; CDC II preferred.
• Pass ADOC background check and PREA screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct SBIRT and ASAM assessments for clients.
• Facilitate groups addressing chemical dependency, co-occurring disorders, and related topics.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans and referrals.
• Complete documentation in a timely manner per contract requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
