Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory seeks a SATS Counselor to support the SATS Program at the Clitheroe Center in Alaska. The role includes conducting SBIRT and ASAM assessments, developing treatment plans, and coordinating referrals under the ADOC contract.

You will facilitate groups on chemical dependency and related issues, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Alaska State Counselor Technician Certification required.
• Knowledgeable of Substance Related and Addictive Disorders and treatment.
• CDCI certification required; CDCII certification preferred.
• Able to obtain CDCI within one year from date of hire; pass ADOC background screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct SBIRT and ASAM assessments, orientation with new clients, development of treatment plans, referrals and reentry planning as needed.
• Facilitate groups dealing with chemical dependency, substance abuse issues, co-occurring disorders, criminal thinking errors per approved curriculum.
• Monitor client compliance with treatment goals and assigned curriculum work.
• Complete documentation in a timely fashion and in compliance with contract requirements.
• Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or management.
