Job summary

Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL is seeking a Part Time Registered Nurse (RN) for Out Patient Recovery (Pre-op/PACU) with 20 hours per week. Schedule rotates 0600–0930 starts, typically 8 hour shifts, with alternating weekly patterns.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
• Licensed RN in Illinois and BLS certification.
• ACLS certification preferred or completed during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients using the nursing process and plan individualized care.
• Coordinate discharge planning with interdisciplinary team.
• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care in PACU and pre-op areas.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Promote patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate leadership and delegate appropriately to unlicensed staff.
