Job summary

Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for Day Surgery on a part-time schedule (24 hours per week). Shifts include flex hours and some weekend call; candidate must reside within 30 minutes of Sherman Hospital and hold an Illinois RN license.

Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, collaborating with the care team, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant EHR documentation while promoting patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in Illinois (multi-state compact acceptable).
• BLS certification required; additional specialty training may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Engages in quality initiatives, governance, and patient care improvements.
• Uses nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts plans, and collaborates with the team.
• Maintains safety culture and accurate EHR documentation.
• May float to other units as needed and ensure age-appropriate care.
