Job summary

Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL seeks a Registered Nurse for the Outpatient Surgical Center on a per diem basis. You will rotate prepping patients for procedures and recovering them post-procedure, covering GI, pain, and eye procedures. Typical hours are 0700–1700, Monday–Friday, with a 48-hour minimum every 6 weeks.

Requirements include RN licensure, BLS, and 1 year of clinical nursing experience. Expect collaboration with the care team and adherence to patient safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active registered nurse (RN) license with multi-state compact and/or single-state license to practice in the relevant state(s).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications may be required by specialty.

Responsibilities

• Engages in quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions and adjusts care plans; collaborates with the care team.
• Maintains patient safety and adheres to ethical standards and policies.
• Ensures timely signed, accurate EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs.
