Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatment under a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans to meet patient goals.
• Instruct and assist patients with therapeutic exercises and daily activities.
• Assist with safe use of assistive devices and orthotics.
• Apply modalities as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Perform therapies within PTA scope under supervision and document responses.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising PT.
• Communicate progress and modify treatment as needed.
• Participate in discharge planning and home exercise instruction.
• Educate patients and families on exercises, safety, and home program continuation.
• Document care and charges in the EMR and maintain compliance with NY requirements.
