Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited PTA program resulting in an Associate's degree.
• Current New York State PTA license or eligibility.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Must complete yearly safety trainings and HealthStream e-Learning courses.
• Prior outpatient or clinical experience preferred; new grads considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Instruct and assist patients with exercises, gait training, balance activities, and activities of daily living.
• Assist with safe use of assistive devices.
• Provide modalities as directed (hot/cold packs, ultrasound, etc.).
• Monitor and document patient responses and progress to the PT.
• Communicate progress to PT and adjust plans as needed.
• Participate in discharge planning and home exercise education.
