Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program resulting in an Associate's degree.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled physical therapy treatment under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

• Instructs, encourages, and assists patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and daily living activities.
•  
• Assists patients in safe use of assistive devices and orthotics.
•  
• Administers modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold packs as directed.
•  
• Monitors patient responses and reports progress to the supervising PT.
•  
• Documents care and charges in the EMR and maintains compliance with NY state requirements.
