Key People is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our outpatient team in Montour Falls, NY. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help implement personalized treatment plans and address patient goals.

The role involves guiding patients through exercises, gait and balance activities, and education for home programs, with documentation and safety compliance at the core. NY PTA licensure and CPR are required; outpatient experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Accredited PTA program resulting in an Associate's degree.
• Current New York State PTA license or eligibility.
• Current CPR certification.
• yearly mandatory safety in-services and HealthStream courses.
• Outpatient or clinical experience preferred; new graduates may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Provides skilled physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implements individualized treatment plans addressing patient goals and functional needs.
• Instructs and assists patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and ADLs.
• Assists patients with devices such as crutches, walkers, and canes.
• Administers modalities as directed by the PT (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation).
• Performs activities and manual techniques within PTA scope under supervision.
• Monitors and documents patient responses and reports progress to the PT.
• Communicates with PT about progress and program modifications.
• Participates in discharge planning and reinforces home exercise programs.
• Educates patients and families on exercises, safety, and home program continuation.
• Documents care, treatment, responses, and charges in EMR; maintains compliance.
