Job summary

Ridgemont Resources, Inc. seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant for outpatient care in Montour Falls, NY. You will provide skilled PT treatment under a licensed PT, support individualized plans, and guide patients through exercises and mobility activities.

The role includes patient education, documentation in EMR, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. NYS PTA licensure and CPR certification are required; outpatient experience is preferred. Local travel to site locations may be limited.

Qualifications

• Education: Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program resulting in an Associate's degree.
• Licensure: Current New York State Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility for licensure as required by New York State.
• Certification: Current CPR Certification.
• Training: Must complete yearly mandatory safety in-services and/or trainings as well as yearly HealthStream e-Learning courses.
• Experience: Prior outpatient or clinical experience preferred. New graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assists with implementing individualized treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist.
• Instructs and assists patients with therapeutic exercises, gait, balance, and ADLs.
• Assists with safe use of assistive devices (crutches, walkers, canes, orthotics).
• Administers modalities such as hot/cold packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation as directed.
• Performs activities and manual therapy within PTA scope under supervision.
• Monitors and documents patient responses and progress.
• Communicates progress and suggests modifications to the therapist.
• Participates in discharge planning and home exercise program reinforcement.
• Educates patients and caregivers on exercises and safety at home.
• Documents care and charges in EMR; maintains compliance with NYS requirements.
