Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current New York State PTA license or eligibility.
• CPR certification on file.
• Annual safety trainings and HealthStream e-Learning.
• outpatient experience preferred, new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatment under a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises, gait, balance, and ADLs.
• Assist with use of assistive devices (crutches, walkers, canes, orthotics).
• Administer modalities (heat/cold packs, ultrasound, e-stim) as directed.
• Document patient responses and progress under supervision.
• Communicate progress and modify treatment as needed.
• Participate in discharge planning and home exercise programs.
• Educate patients and families on exercises, safety, and home program.
• Document care and charges in the EMR.
• Maintain NYS requirements and facility policies.
