Job summary

Confident Search Consultants seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant – Outpatient for an onsite role in Montour Falls, NY. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to support outpatient care.

You will implement treatment plans, educate patients, and assist with exercises, gait and functional activities, while documenting progress and ensuring safety and quality care. Prior outpatient experience is preferred; strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in PTA required.
• Current New York State PTA license or eligibility.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must complete yearly safety in-services and HealthStream courses.
• Outpatient experience preferred; new grads considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assists with implementing individualized treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist.
• Educates and assists patients with therapeutic exercises, functional activities, gait training, balance activities, and ADLs.
• Assists with safe use of assistive devices (crutches, walkers, canes, orthotics).
• Administers modalities (hot/cold packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation) as directed.
• Performs activities and manual therapy within PTA scope, under supervision.
• Monitors and documents patient responses, reports progress to PT.
• Communicates progress with PT and suggests program modifications.
• Participates in discharge planning and reinforces home exercise programs.
• Instructs patients, families, and caregivers on exercises, safety, mobility, and home program.
