Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to provide direct therapeutic services in an outpatient psychiatry clinic within an academic medical center.

The position reports to the Clinic Medical Director and handles a complex caseload with psychosocial assessment, active treatment, case management, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the CSWE (Council on Social Work Education).
• Current licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners or the South Carolina Board for Licensure of Professional Counselors required.
• Preferred LISW, LPC, or LMFT experience in outpatient therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual and group therapy to adults in an outpatient community psychiatry clinic.
• Performs psychosocial assessments, documents treatment plans, and coordinates care with a multidisciplinary team.
• Interviews clients, families, and providers to evaluate functioning and treatment needs.
• Completes administrative duties related to patient care and documentation.
