Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston seeks a Therapist in the Addiction Sciences Division: Center for Drugs and Alcohol Program. The LISW, LPC, or LMFT will provide individual and group therapy in an outpatient clinic, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates hold a CSWE-accredited Master’s in social work or related field and licensure (LISW, LPC, or LMFT). Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; salary is salaried exempt; 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the CSWE or a regionally accredited institution.
• Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Responsibilities

• Interview clients and families to assess diagnosis, coping strategies, and mental status, develop and discuss treatment plans, and monitor progress.
• Ensure agency procedures and clinical standards for treatment planning, case management, discharge planning and referrals are met.
• Plan, implement and coordinate all treatment services delivered to clients, collaborating with internal and external resources.
• Conduct community planning, needs assessment and evaluation concerning societal conditions impacting social functioning.
