Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute is seeking a Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality outpatient rehabilitation in a collaborative care model with physicians. The role focuses on evaluating patients, creating treatment plans, and guiding care to optimize function and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited Physical Therapy Program.
• Licensed or eligible to sit for boards in Illinois.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift greater than 25 pounds.
• Understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing.
• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
• Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day.

Responsibilities

• Exceptional patient care
• Interprets physician orders, performs initial evaluations and establishes treatment plans and functional goals
• Upgrades and amends treatment goals as necessary during the episode of care
• Written documentation on patient status to physicians per IBJI rehab compliance guidelines
• Determine appropriate discharge timeline and follow-up
• Supervision of Rehabilitation Technicians and staff as needed
• Compliance with daily paperwork and timely documentation in patient charts
• Stays current with billing policies and ethical billing practices
• Maintains active state license by CEUs through outside courses and IBJI opportunities
• Develops positive relationships with physician teams at IBJI
• Active role in the patient care team and communication with case managers
• Participates in IBJI programs: mentoring, clinical education, special interest group, community outreach
