Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Specialized training in phlebotomy.
• One year of experience in outpatient or acute care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine best method to obtain specimens (venipuncture, capillary, heel-stick) for quality testing.
• Order tests in LIS as requested by providers; resolve unclear orders with the provider.
• Interact with patients professionally, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
• Prepare aliquots and shipping batches; register, draw, and ship specimens.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and promote efficient workflow.
• Manage lab supply inventory and conserve resources.
