Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy program completion preferred; certification preferred.
• Minimum two years of work experience as a phlebotomist preferred; healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples by venipuncture or finger/heel sticks.
• Utilize a computerized system for logging and tracking specimen collection and patient information; properly identify and label specimens.
• Perform accurate order entry and verify requisitions for proper data entry.
• Operate basic lab equipment such as a centrifuge and microscope.
• Communicate with lab staff to resolve specimen issues and ensure proper labeling for processing.
• Monitor pending work and rotate stock; handle inventory and supply requisitions.
