Qualifications

• Specialized training in phlebotomy required.
• One year of outpatient or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-based specimen collection via venipuncture, capillary, or heel-stick.
• Order tests in LIS as requested by providers and resolve unclear orders.
• Explain procedures and address patient concerns to ensure comfort during blood collection.
• Prepare aliquots and shipping batches per vendor protocols.
• Maintain a safe, clean lab environment and promote workflow through effective handoffs.
• Track inventory and use supplies efficiently; perform preventive maintenance.
