Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a PRN/Flexi Pharmacy Technician for the Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA. The role operates on rotating hours with open 9am-7pm weekdays and is not available weekends or major holidays.

You will fill and deliver medications under supervision, maintain supplies, and ensure QA per legal requirements. A Virginia Pharmacy Tech License and CPhT certification are required, with 1 year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician license required in the state of practice.
• CPhT license (NHA or PTCB) required.
• One year of pharmacy tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Other duties may be assigned.

The Pharmacy Technician performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
