Job summary

Intermountain Health at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado is launching a new outpatient pharmacy.

As an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician you will support daily operations, establish workflows, and partner with pharmacists and technicians to prepare prescriptions and assist patients, with 10-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays. This role emphasizes patient care in a retail-like setting and offers a chance to help build a growing

Qualifications

High School or equivalent is required.
Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
Current knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice and drug distribution.
Any lapse or failure to meet requirements may result in disciplinary action, up to termination.

Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacist in collecting patient information and maintaining records as required by regulation and policy.
Prepare medication orders for dispensing and perform calculations as necessary.
Ensure appropriate supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist.
Maintain medication supplies including controlled substances inventories for security and cost effectiveness.
Communicate with caregivers and participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
