Job summary

Intermountain Health is launching a new outpatient pharmacy at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.

We are seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to help build workflows, support daily operations, and partner with pharmacists and technicians to prepare prescriptions and assist patients. The role emphasizes patient care in a retail-like setting within a hospital program, offering a collaborative, growth-focused team environment.

Qualifications

High School or equivalent required.
Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents.
Lapses or failures may result in disciplinary action, up to termination.

Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining records as required by regulation and policy.
Prepare medication orders for dispensing, perform calculations, and compound medications as appropriate.
Obtain supervision and accuracy checks from the pharmacist and know when verification is required.
Maintain medication supplies and monitor controlled substances inventories and 340B/ Charging management as required.
Communicate with caregivers about responsibilities and participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
