Intermountain Health is launching a new outpatient pharmacy at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The Pharmacy Technician will support daily operations, establish workflows, and partner with pharmacists to prepare prescriptions and assist patients throughout their care journey. This role emphasizes patient care in a retail-like setting with a strong focus on safety, workflow development, and collaboration within a growing program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice and drug distribution.
• Lapse or failure to meet requirements may result in disciplinary action or termination.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in collecting patient information and maintaining records.
• Prepare medication orders for dispensing and perform necessary calculations under supervision.
• Ensure accuracy checks with pharmacists and verify tasks as required.
• Maintain medication supplies and monitor controlled substances inventories.
• Communicate with caregivers and participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
