Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist for outpatient orthopedic care. You will plan and administer treatment to alleviate pain, restore function, and promote overall health. The role requires clinical excellence, patient education, and collaboration with the medical team.

You will serve as a clinical resource and instructor, delivering evidence-based care and ensuring safe, compassionate service across patient care teams.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in good standing (IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days per AHA.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy (Required).
• Work Experience: Outpatient orthopedic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates patient transfer ability with assistance as needed.
• Maintains safe body mechanics to protect patients and staff.
• Designs and implements plan of care with goals, outcomes, and discharge plan.
• Adjusts care based on patient response and evolving evidence.
• Educates patients, families, and care teams using effective methods.
• Evaluates findings to determine PT diagnoses and outcomes.
• Examines patients using reliable methods relevant to symptoms and history.
• Screens patients to determine need for therapy services and allocate support as appropriate.
• Monitors care delivered by support personnel and provides feedback.
• Communicates with the medical team and documents per department standards.
• Meets customer service and productivity standards; acts as clinical instructor when assigned.
• Participates in team meetings and department initiatives.
