Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an Outpatient RN CAP 2 to provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned patient group in a dialysis setting. You may coordinate with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians and participate in education, leadership, and quality improvement initiatives.

Role includes direct patient care during hemodialysis, education, medication administration, and potential preceptorship of new staff. CAP requirements must be completed to advance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR/BLS Certification
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.
• Entry level for RNs with minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing data collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis and documents in the patient medical record.
• Educates patients and family about learning needs and care.
• Delivers safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Mentors and precepts new employees as needed.
• Completes CAP requirements to maintain or advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
