DaMar Staffing seeks a skilled Medical Coder for the VA Anchorage role. You will code inpatient and outpatient professional services using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, ensuring documentation supports all coded data and aligns with VA guidelines.

Data abstraction and accurate entry into national VA databases are essential. Responsibilities include detailed chart review, adherence to coding guidelines, and collaboration with clinical staff to resolve ambiguities.

Qualifications

• Experience coding diagnoses and procedures in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Ability to review electronic health records for complete data capture and accurate coding.
• Familiarity with coding guidelines and industry standards (AMA CPT, AHA Coding Clinic).

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient and outpatient professional services.
• Select and assign codes from ICD, CPT and HCPCS.
• Ensure documentation supports diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstract data from medical records for research and reporting.
• Maintain accurate coding in the national VA databases.
