Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an Allied Health Professional for a VA role in Gainesville, FL. The incumbent codes diagnoses and procedures for inpatient and outpatient encounters under supervision, reviews records, and ensures compliant, accurate coding.

The position supports onboarding, teamwork, and ongoing professional development, with standard work hours and a pay structure reflecting federal guidelines. Telework is possible 3+ days per pay period in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes based on accepted coding practices under guidance from a supervisor.
• Identify the principal diagnosis and/or principal procedure for every inpatient admission.
• Review medical record documentation to abstract relevant data with supervisory guidance.
• Assist in orienting and training new personnel.

Responsibilities

• Follow coding guidelines to select the most appropriate codes.
• Work within a team environment and meet deadlines.
• Utilize encoder software and Windows applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) daily.
