Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a skilled Medical Records Coder to review and abstract data, assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, and help reduce days in accounts receivable. This role involves interpreting medical information, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with coding guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have RHIT/RHIA/CCS-P or CPC certifications, experience in hospital or clinic coding, and strong data entry skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of coding courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• 1 year of Hospital and/or Physician Coding experience.
• 1 year coding at mid-level facilities or clinics.
• 1 year coding major surgeries, observations and/or E/Ms.
• Strong data entry skills and ability to work with healthcare team.
• RHIT, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, COC, or CPC-A certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 CM and CPT codes.
• Abstract data elements for statistical requests and enter data into designated system.
• Manage unbilled coding report and cash flow.
• Stay updated with ICD-10 CM/CPT guidelines through training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
