Qualifications

• High School/GED completed and coding coursework in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• 1 year hospital/physician coding experience with exposure to ICD-10-CM and CPT.
• Experience coding major surgeries, E/Ms and ambulatory care settings.
• Strong data entry skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to collaborate with health care team members and stakeholders.
• Professional certifications such as RHIT/RHIA/CCS-P/CPC/COC/CPC-A are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret medical information to assign ICD-10-CM/CPT codes.
• Abstract data elements for statistical requests and enter into the system.
• Manage unbilled coding reports and assist cash flow.
• Stay updated on ICD-10-CM/CPT changes through training and resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
