Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 5 years hospital/physician coding experience.
• 1 year coding across all specialties and service lines.
• Extensive knowledge in Trauma/Teaching/Observation guidelines.
• Completion of coding courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• Certifications (CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, COC)
• Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret medical information to assign ICD-10-CM/CPT codes.
• Abstract data elements for statistical requests and input into designated system.
• Manage medical information and cash flow related to unbilled coding reports.
• Keep current with ICD-10-CM/CPT updates and training resources.
• Mentor and act as SME to others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
