Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry‑level Registered Nurse in its Outpatient CAP 1 program in Kentucky. The RN will provide and coordinate clinically competent care, perform hemodialysis treatments, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the dialysis team to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include data collection during dialysis, medication administration, safety and emergency response, and participation in staff training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Entry level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under supervision with guidance from Clinical Educator, Preceptor, or RN team.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during dialysis and documents in medical records; adjusts care plan as needed.
• Provides patient and family education on care plan and treatment options.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with health care team.
• Administers prescribed medications and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Responds to emergencies and initiates appropriate response measures.
• Assists with staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing, and shipping; reschedules missed labs.
• Updates nursing assessment and care plans through Interdisciplinary Team collaboration.
