Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Louisa, KY is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP 1). You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of care during hemodialysis.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, active state RN licensure, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients during dialysis care.
• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate patient care; document in medical record.
• Collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs and technicians to deliver safe hemodialysis therapy.
• Administer medications per protocol and document effectiveness.
• Participate in emergency response measures as needed.
• Serve as a resource and assist with staff education and orientation.
• Ensure proper lab collection, processing and reporting; reschedule missed draws.
• Update nursing assessment and plan of care with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Discuss transplant and treatment modality options with patients.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance within the program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
