Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Newport, Kentucky is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program. You will provide and coordinate nephrology nursing care, including assessments, planning, interventions and evaluation for dialysis patients, with supervision and collaboration across the health care team.

You will educate patients and families, administer medications per protocol, and participate in staff training and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and current state licensure.
• CPR BLS certification required.
• Entry level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience; dialysis exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Coordinate care and document in medical records; delegate tasks to care staff as needed.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and dialysis modalities.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor effectiveness.
• Lead and train staff as assigned; participate in quality improvement activities.
• Ensure proper lab collection and processing; communicate results to care team.
