Job summary

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital, a UHS facility, seeks an Outpatient Group Therapist to provide counseling in outpatient programs and lead group sessions using evidence-based modalities. The role includes intake assessments, crisis intervention, and coordinating discharge planning within a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will work under the Clinical Services Director, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to regulatory requirements across both outpatient and inpatient

Qualifications

• Licensed Masters Level Therapist or Social Worker, or Under Supervision for license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Successfully complete a drug test
• Successfully pass a national background check
• Physical agility to manage patients
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Strong Computer skills
• Excellent Communication skills
• Strong Leadership skills
• Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling services to patients in outpatient programming.
• Lead group counseling using cognitive behavioral and solution-focused modalities.
• Complete intake assessments and develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed and coordinate discharge planning.
• Educate patients about services and resources post-discharge in continuum of care groups.
• Assist with inpatient acute services when needed with the clinical team.
• Ensure compliance with CMS and JCAHO documentation standards.
