Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a patient access associate to serve as the primary point of contact for patients and visitors in an outpatient unit. You will provide excellent customer service through clear communication and support the care team including physicians, nurses, and other providers.

Responsibilities include check-in, verification of demographics and insurance, scheduling, and ensuring accurate record keeping while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 0–1 years related work experience recommended.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and assists patients, other employees and the public in person or by phone; provides accurate information and directions.
• Takes complete patient information; prepares schedules, medical records and documents; maintains confidentiality.
• Performs check-in/registration and verifies demographic and financial info; collects co-pays; directs patients to next service area.
• Monitors patient flow and acts as liaison to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Processes patient checkout and schedules follow-ups and related tests; provides educational materials; inputs visit charges.
