Job summary

Saint Peters, MO location. Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) in outpatient settings.

The RN will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care for an assigned patient group, delegating tasks as needed and participating in quality improvement activities. The role involves direct dialysis therapy oversight, education of patients/families, medication administration, and collaboration with the health care team to ensure safe care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under supervision and with guidance from the Clinical Educator or Nurse in Charge.
• Performs data collection and analysis during hemodialysis and documents in the medical record; adjusts plan as needed.
• Educates patient and family on learning needs for care.
• Delivers safe hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with care staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed or via approved algorithms.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource for the health care team and participates in staff training.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing and shipping; reschedules missed collections.
• Maintains nursing assessments and care plans with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Provides information on transplant and treatment modality options.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
