Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Saint Peters, MO seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). The nurse coordinates and provides clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.

Delegates tasks to team members and participates in quality improvement activities. The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, current RN licensure, CPR/BLS certification,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which employed.
• Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients.
• Delegation of tasks to direct patient care staff (RNs, LVN/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians).
• Directs and provides safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy and documents in medical record.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Educates patients and families about care and treatment options.
• Ensures laboratory collection procedures are performed and rescheduled if needed.
