Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level professional registered nurse to join the Outpatient CAP 1 program. You will be responsible for coordinated, clinically competent care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation, with mentorship from the supervision team in a dialysis setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing collection and analysis of patient data for hemodialysis treatment and documents in the patient record, adjusts treatment plan as indicated.
• Educates patients and families about learning needs and treatment modalities.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy under supervision and collaboration with staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithm and documents effectiveness.
• Participates in emergency response measures and staff training.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing, and shipping procedures; reschedules missed lab collections.
• Identifies expected outcomes and updates nursing plans of care with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Assists patients with transplant and treatment modality decisions.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
