Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry level Registered Nurse (Outpatient RN CAP 1) in Rockville, MD to coordinate and deliver competent care across dialysis patients. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing actions with the care team, supporting education and patient safety.

The role emphasizes collaboration with RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and Patient Care Technicians, plus ongoing CAP requirements. A comprehensive benefit package accompanies this position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet practice requirements in the employing state.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under supervision with guidance from Educator, Preceptor, or RN colleagues.
• Collects and analyzes patient data around and after hemodialysis; documents in medical record and adjusts care plan.
• Provides initial and ongoing patient/family education.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy with other care staff.
• Administers medications per prescribed protocol and documents results.
• Initiates or assists with emergency responses.
• Serves as a resource and assists with staff training and orientation.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing, and rescheduling as needed.
• Documents outcomes and updates nursing assessment and care plan with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Educates patients about transplant and treatment modality options.
