Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level RN to join the Outpatient CAP path in our dialysis program. This role advances through the Clinical Advancement Program and involves comprehensive patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation under supervision.

You will collaborate with RNs, LVNs/LPNs and patient care technicians to deliver safe hemodialysis, educate patients and families, administer medications as prescribed and participate in emergency responses and quality

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current CPR/BLS Certification.
• Must meet state practice requirements.
• Entry level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing.
• 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing duties under supervision and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Conducts ongoing collection and analysis of patient data during dialysis and adjusts the treatment plan as needed.
• Educates patients and families on learning needs and care plans.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with the care team.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Assists with staff training and orientation as assigned.
• Ensures proper laboratory collection, processing and shipping; reschedules missed collections.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Current appropriate state licensure
