Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse to join the Outpatient CAP pathway. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care, assess and plan care, and participate in education for patients and families during dialysis sessions.

You will work under supervision with a team of RNs, LVNs/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians, ensuring safe hemodialysis delivery, medication administration, and timely documentation.

Qualifications

• Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis and documents in the medical record.
• Assesses and documents patient/family learning needs to provide education.
• Directs and provides safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy with the care team.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms and records justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource for the health care team and mentors staff.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing and reporting; reschedules missed collections.
• Updates nursing assessment and care plan through collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Educates patient about transplant and treatment modality options.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Current appropriate state licensure

CPR BLS Certification
